In this Body of work Louise has portrayed farmers of the region where she grew up, in and around the farm of her parent. As a child she made many drawings. There was always something odd on these drawings. Later when she photographed the 'Farmer series', she recognised her drawings in them. She came to the conclusion she had always drawn subconsciousness the people from her direct surroundings.
Louise says about this body of work: This series started spontaneously, my old neighbour asked me to take pictures on her 50th birthday party. Once there I was captivated by the guests. I had been away from home for a while to study. The people I saw there remind me of my childhood and also of a peasant society that probably won't be back anytime soon.
Taking a photo is the beginning for an artwork, than I'm going to digitally draw over it, to get out everything I see in the initial image. For me these people represent a sort of real realness, I think these people are really beautiful and one of the kindest people I've ever met.
